The powerscaling is getting incredibly inconsistent ngl, when getting the compass he kills a 9 star mage and three 8 star mages instantly and now he just straight up loses to Joshua, I can maybe understand MC being slightly weaker since the Runcandel Bloodline is broken but he literally didnt stand a chance. Also the combination of Magic, Aura and Shadow Energy was consistently shown to be able to beat enemies 2 stars higher than him but that plotpoint has been abandoned for some reason, it feels like all that happened on the island was him learning the shadow techniques, also neither the shadow summoning nor the clone bs were foreshadowed in any way.
TL;DR: it feels like the MC got too strong too quickly for the story and is now being forcibly nerfed in order for it to continue
