So what they’re pretty much saying is when the next big fight starts, the author will make the MC get his azz whooped by the antagonist/s, and at the moment of peak suspense/desperation, plot will come in and give him his power-up.
And the best part: Even if the MC is one of the best when it comes to talent/potential, his friends/allies who’ve surely been training as he has this entire time, they will have grown as much or surpassed the MC. Doesn’t matter if MC’s been training with all these strong guys nonstop, they’ll still be caught up to him.
And I’ll say it again: the power scaling in this Manhwa has been all out of whack ever since the 1-9 star rankings had become irrelevant. We’ve already surpassed 9 stars, but apparently there’s a Demigod rank that the MC’s father is at. What about in between?
I am most pleased with this chapter, training-arc wise. It has seemingly no growth, allusion to growth with no real clear answer and the best was probably the booze; which is an essential even if you’re a warrior.

When the mc was talked about in terms of talent, supposedly able to surpass his predecessor, so no you clueless fools, it’s not realistic at all that he’s weak and it’s not that interesting either.
The premise that “an OP mc can’t be interesting” is a complete lie, Nano machine is the proof, Hokuto no ken as well way before it. It just need a good story that gives the mc challenges and hardships which lie elsewhere then just fighting physically.
Weakness is something negative so it’s normal readers don’t enjoy watching loss after loss. If you enjoy it, it’s only because you like the reflection of your own inability being represented, as you convince yourself that it’s ok to be a loser. While others want to see a story that tells about someone who becomes their best self and be encouraged.
So yeah, it’s about time Jin gets really skilled and surpass at least his older brother.
