I had a realization watching the anime for this. That in the 1950’s Hugh Hefner invented the animal girl with his Bunnies, the Hef became a huge preverted mess by the 80’s, but in its infancy Playboy sort of had something good going on, sort of anyways, But regardless by making Bunnies he created a template for all the goodness that came later.
