geeze, people / authors seem to forget or just are just ignorant.
The Sea/Oceans are some of the most dangerous places in the world and even standing near the edge at water level qith your back turned can get you killed if you are unlucky/ bad timing.
places where people use a beach in civilization have regular beach sweepers and patrols / knowledge of the local dangers to watch out for.
Eg: poisonousdeadly sea urchins & jellyfish that can drift onto the beach or just under water surface near shallows, sudden big waves and riptides / undercurrents that can grab you and pull you underwater dragged along the sharp coral / shells rocks etc… sea creatures (especially in fantasy magic worlds)
Beaches that are considered safer/managed are also sometimes plagued by a thing called Owners, who will rob you of money claiming they own the world because they think they are special gods above other people and they were the first ones to (not find it first) but first to have the audacity to try and scam ppl claiming they were first.
Ex: sharknado, bay watch (dwayne the rock), cast away, the beach(horror movie), Jaws.

I didn’t get to play in an ocean until I was an adult, and it was pretty different from what I was used to. Not really a disappointment, though. I’m normally far inland, with only freshwater lakes and stuff around.
