Dunno if the author intended so, but Uto is vague not only in her speech, she’s vague in her whole self. So androgynous. So cute. So confusing. Interestingly, the bangs accident made her look much more girlish.

Uto has been in my top 5 GFs since she appeared (vol 11 has both her and Ahko’s intros and is probably the best single volume). So anytime she gets more focus I’m happy. But have to be honest, she always has her Chuni sombrero on so I didn’t quite get her angst, but who cares. Uto doing Uto things is a always a win.
But it tells you everything about this cast that they didn’t hesitate to sacrifice their own bangs so she’d be not only happier but the equal footing they share would remain. Renterou doing it was a given, but the other 30…we’ve come a long way from chapters 1&2 or even the beauty slowdown. O
