A brief description of the manga The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You:
What could be worse than refusing a love confession? A hundred refusals to make a love confession! Aijou Rentaro is a hopeless romantic who has already made a hundred declarations of love, but for unexplained reasons has been refused every time. One day the God of Love himself appeared before him and told him that his terrible luck in love had been reversed!
Now Aijou had to meet 100 girls who were his “soul mates”, each of them destined for him by fate and in love with him without memory! But here’s the trouble: no one should have so many soul mates! If he does not reciprocate at least one of them, the girl will die of an accident! Now it’s a matter of love and death, and it’s Aijou’s choice.
Question! Is this worth reading?
this is my second comment about this manga, and I will GIVE AN ATTEMPT, to completely summarize this.
This is one of the peculiar manga’s out there that is willing to go through the trouble to create a story, I’ve also heard that the author who has made it, is dedicated on finishing the series, even if its plot is simply ludicrous. whether it be the references or albeit taboo, by the time I am commenting this (iirc.) they are on maternity leave.
i also feel like where they absolutely stomp on romance tropes, by shifting their personalities to the max, making it simplistic, or extremely complicated it ends up becoming a fresh of new air, the protagonist ISN’T blunt, and WON’T take 200 chapters to develop their feelings.
Some of the female casts WON’T have a good first impression, and ruin a character AS A WHOLE or it might even go so far to have the series canceled, but thats just how nonsensical it is. It goes so far to break the 4th wall at times, even the adaptation follows through. I feel like if you ignore how weird how it takes on certain situations, it can be somewhat enjoyable, there are a lot of scenes that have genuinely moved me, in spite of how the plot is, i have cried while reading 100kanojo.
To me, this is simply more than just a “turn off my brain & read” rom-com, even though you might be overstimulated with the amount of girls later on, You might end up enjoying atleast ONE of the characters.
Everything about this manga is severely hit or miss, but thats simply just how it ends up being. despite how it ends up alluding points. I’ve come to an understanding that anything unpredictable WILL happen, and everything predictable inevitably happens.
i support this manga and i respect the goal of finishing until #100. its gone so far to have 200+ chapters, and season 3 is set to release by next month of me writing this, (April 2026). I also like #12.
tl;dr the rom-com is not your average rom-com, premise is; 100 girlfriends, 100 different variations. 1 boyfriend & a goal to make them all happy. 100% you’ll either hate it or love it.

Among those “let’s renegotiate my lack of popularity in highschool” mangas, this seems to be one of the better ones.
I don’t really get why that’s a genre, but apparently it has an audience!
