Ah… it’s time for one of those chapters.
This would be one hell of a serious arc, similar to Hahari’s way back in the day (though I doubt it’ll last beyond next chapter).
And yet… you know, this happens. It will happen. Our loved ones will die: our grandparents, parents, our elder siblings and cousins and other relatives. Maybe even some friends.
Nothing to do about it. That’s what makes it tragic.

FINALLY SOME ACTUAL PLOT. This is so good, I’ll pray for Yaku-san.
This series love to go from “yippie happy slice of life romcom nonsense” to “this could get traumatic real quick” for some reason. And I’m all for it
Well this was really shocking I was hoping to read something funny and enjoy but I didn’t thought it going to be this hard 😔
let’s be honest, they’re not letting her die. Hakari broke up with Rentarou but that got solved by him dating her mother. Nano was forgotten by the entire family but that got solved by Rentarou being an anomaly through the power of love and reverting it. I doubt they’ll let anything happen to Yaku or Kusuri or anyone else.
Still a great start for a dramatic arc, though. Can feel the power and emotions in it.
I love those dramatic arcs. They always bring the best out of everyone involved, let us appreciate all the little things Rentarou’s family’s life is made of, make us sit on the edge of our chairs watching things unfold, terrified by a possibility of an irreplace loss, cross fingers hoping for the best, then go aaaaaaaawww and enjoy – yes, enjoy – the hard work of that army of ninjas cutting all those truckloads of happy onions with industrial efficiency.
Yep yep, lovin’ every second of it.

I’m just Imagining Uncle Iroh for some reason and that is bringing me to tears
This story is a season-ender for sure, should the anime get this far.
