Ngl, this might be the first girlfriend where I wish it was the only girlfriend. Not because she’s my fave, though Ahko is *chefs kiss* great.
It’s because when she said she wanted Rentarou by her side running a shop, I just… want to see that future. The thought made my heart melt. And bless his heart but he’ll never give her the full attention I’d want to see in that future scenario.

So have re-read all the GF intros again and…this is after Shizuka, the best intro. There is something so adorable about this girl from the off, but she is also so dang funny…she sends me. How long had she been planned by the author? Fantastic work! So much so I actually bought the physical copy of this volume.

Re-reading while waiting for new chapters and…yep, Ahko is in the triumvirate with Karene and Shizuka as the GFs i most adore.
To take the Gal stereotype and give her a depressing mannerism and low-blood pressure affectation, is just so perfect for this gaggle of GFs. And she’s hysterical. I was a teen in the 80s when Valley Girls became a thing. Somehow, without the internet to spread it, girls a thousand miles away from the Valley were hanging at the mall saying “totally’ and “fur sure” and…they were adorable. Cheap dates, just take a girl from that culture to the mall and…its like Ahko. So, while I’ve loved all the new GFs who aren’t related to Renterou or pensioners (I’m fine with them now) Ahko is the best new girl since the starting 5. I do want to get her some anti-depressants and some blood pressure meds.
One of the best new GF introductions since Shizuku. She’s not at all what i was expecting from the GAL, and the author is clever for going against type. This manga just makes me smile every chapter.
