I was wrong, the blond guy is just a horny shit dog. Well the MC can knock down a kingdom if he wants, if he gets angry, well, another war will be.

What they did to the 7th circle mage is a trope called “The Worf Effect” named after the tough guy character from Star Trek. Basically you introduce a powerful character (such as Worf) and have them establish their power in some way (Like what she did with the bandits) and then you have another character overpower them to show how strong that character is. The original strong character (the female mage in this case) is used as a guage for power level in a story like a glorified scouter from DBZ. We now know the MC is way stronger then we previously thought because of how this overpowered mage reacted to his presence. Much more interesting than assigning number values to power. Though this story also does that with the 7th circle and 9th circle spell comments.
Oh? You're approaching me?

Just imagine if Ellison was a Villain. 😂 What he did with the Soundproofing Magic when conversing with the 7th Class Mage reminds me of “The Lord’s Coins Aren’t Decreasing” when the MC there followed his Teacher, and he was in the crowd, and as bystanders walked past he disappeared. Horror movie type shit. 😂

In many other titles, the Duke would be screaming now about how a peasant cook from a backwoods village doesn’t know his place.
I’m looking forward to the MC’s response, and the Prince’s pet mage cowering in fear.
