not having any permanently tamed beasts, it would be like the swordsman of the party, throwing away their sword after every battle, (i guess goblin slayer does that) then waiting to find one nearby or grab when they meet an enemy…
like a pokemon trainer who releases his pokemon after every adventure… and waits to catch ones in the area they head to after getting there.
