The mistake was Dicathen’s, depending on one lousy ship. Alacrya is showing them how to build a proper navy. They’re the bad guys though, so I’m sure they decimated entire forests to get so many ships built.
The funny thing is the ships might have still made the situation better. If the Alacryans didn’t go with their naval invasion plan, they would have likely stormed the wall and began the full fledged land invasion by now. Although, that depends on how bad the better logistics of sending their people over ships (good thing Arthur didn’t warn them about scurvy for that sea attrition loss) is compared to the extra training time it gave Arthur.

im back after rereading this absolute masterpiece again since I first read it eons ago. excited for the news that it’ll be coming back.
Hopefully they are able to find an artist. I really enjoyed this read. Hopefully the artist gets better so we can all enjoy this novel.
