One of the few times where the reason magic is lower than the past isn’t because “PeoPlE DumB ForGOt”, but because the world itself changed.
This reminds me a bit of fate, where during the age of mythologies magic was abundant, but as science grew, the magic started to get weaker because there wasn’t enough ‘mistery’ to fuel it
