Can steal skills from any mob, or any player, yet when he fighting the boss mob suddenly forgot about that?

I wonder, did Japan’s strongest die in this Dungeon in the other timeline? After all he was still just one person, most definitely with less Mana than the MC party combined and without his ability to fuse 3 different Types of Mana, at twice the power thanks to Overclock. He might have been overwhelmed by the combination of high level mob monsters plus sneak attack from a Boss that just refuses to stay inside his Boss Room.

why he didnt do that from start ? it would not hit the hostage , LOL ?
also
copy some skill from the boss, that strengthening it had looks nice the regeneration too .
