They messed up on the power scaling. They were doing well, with an early mention that Rank C is strong and people above Rank C were rare. But then they kind of dropped that thread, so I’m not sure what the top of the scale is. I’m left to assume there are still B, A, and S to come, so this new guy sounds like the local high school champ. Not a slouch, but MC is well established as a world-breaking power, so New Guy represents zero threat. I feel a little sorry for him, even though he’s a bully. Why did MC even prepare? And instead of looking forward to the outcome of an epic battle, I’m wondering why the royal family can’t afford a top-notch guardian.
