Just binge read this and the pacing is awesome — things actually happen, at a leisurely but steady pace. The story is interesting, the characters are believable, and while the characters are almost all girls except for the MC, it actually doesn’t cross into “harem” territory at all. Above all, the MC is a genuinely amazing soul who is very well-written. He comes across as what he’s supposed to — a 200 year old “guardian deity” reincarnated as the bastard son of a noble.

Was curious about the web novel but from what i found only 13 chapters are translated out of 171 and is only just at the beginning of the manga. There hasn’t been an update to the translations in 4 years so guess will have to wait for manga updates.
This is crazy. MC is OP but this manga can use it and be too tier. MC is a pushover but the manga can blend it and not make anything forced either. It’s all so cliché, but at the same time HOW IS THIS SO GOOD?
believe me it just doesn’t make sense for a manga this theoretically generic to be so good. But it is indeed THAT good.
It’s all about plot. You can make up a sh1tty trope in your mind but if you’re a mangaka like this “Muraichi” guy, you can turn it into an A-tier manga regardless.

For some odd reason, I had dropped this manga three years ago, however, from the interesting synopsis and nostalgia, I decided to once again pick up and give a second chance to a series. Admittedly, this usually never works out, as I can’t recall a time it did, well, before this. With my aged taste, I’ve come to appreciate this manga’s character depth and development, the plot line balanced with subplots, and the interesting direction or mystery elements.
Each character in this manga have a standing by themselves. In other words, they are distinct and memorable while being interesting by themselves, without the main character’s tampering. Each of the characters have been well-developed and fleshed out, with their reasoning and goals not being too absurd and somewhat understandable. However, if there was one flaw about each character then it would most certainly be them being tossed aside once another arc starts, excluding the main cast.
The plot is quite interesting; instead of this manga having one main, overarching plot, it’s riddled with subplots that add necessary twists and spice to counteract boring moods that usually occur for a manga of this style. Though they are well written, there also have been numerous of times where the endings to each subplot are anticlimactic, which is quite disappointing for as much buildup the author has done.
At one moment, the manga instills a comedic, humorous atmosphere, but at another moment, the manga tugs at the reader’s heartstrings; in other words, this manga is extremely versatile in its direction and engagement. Though the manga is certainly lacking in some departments, mainly the hyper fixation on one character, there’s not one disengaging part about it, well, at least for an experienced reader. From past experiences, a casual reader may not enjoy this as much, but maybe be like me and give it three years for your taste to be a little bit more refined lmao.
