Btw, the princess never mentioned the Demon King castle, yet he talked about it to her. She might be suspicious of him

A few cuts that didn’t make it into this from the novel:
Bertus scene before this episode
There was a scene where bertus was talking about his duel with mayarton.
Heinrich who is basically defined as someone being jealous of Rheinhart wanted to downplay his victory. He kept saying to Bertus it was just a fluke, and that Rheinhart asked for a handicap, furthermore he kept saying he got knocked down constantly, as well as using dirty tactics and laughed a bit at how he wasn’t as great as the rumors said.
Rheinhart actually wanted him to downplay his victory, because he didn’t want Bertus to really notice him. However the effect was inverse: basically Bertus was impressed he kept getting up on willpower, was smart enough to ask for a handicap, and was willing to fight dirty to win a fight he would ordinarily never manage to win. Bertus consistently complimented him.
In his inner monologues, he also keeps on insisting that as a novelist he made Bertus a bit too clever and charismatic, and that he was worried Bertus would eventually suck him in as a pawn if he kept talking with him.
Wasn’t a very important scene though.
A detail that keeps getting left out is how Bertus constantly meets him and brews tea to drink together. It’s something he considers immaculate, wonderful.
For those wondering why he didn’t just kill Valier off, he answers it in another inner monologue, though it should go mostly without saying:
Spoiler
He’s terrified she’ll break down and want to die if she finds out Valier is dead and after all the lies and deception he put her through, he wants to give her some minimal sense of hope to calm her down.

I’m a little disappointed that the Princess was so sincere in her quest to meet the protagonist’s alter-ego. I think it might’ve been fun if she was just a little unhinged like her brother and made some complications.
