YES! He saved the Surviving Scientist’s and Doctors!!! That’s a good choice! However…. He kinda uselessly sacrificed those other people tbh, had he fulfilled his role of being an leader more, which is TO ACTUALLY SPEAK UP, those people would’ve listened or forced to obey. And plus, aside from being a little rebellious they really didn’t do anything wrong. And their deaths were not beneficial due to you already being surrounded. So that was a dumb and heartless decision on MC’s part. But, at the very least, MC is planning to build his own Organization and Safe Zone in this Inhospitable World, that’s awesome. Something Global Freeze did not do for it’s MC, who just wanted to destroy the world at that point.
