His motivations are really all over the place. Wanted to be free from palace politics –> gets the plot armor cheat hacky skill of two souls –> enters Murim politics.
Says he wants to be free, gets power –> says he wants to rule over Murim. Dumb af.
I would have preferred if he just wandered across his kingdom with that power, interfered wherever possible etc. but I guess it is difficult for copycat writers to pull that off.
