It makes sense there are players chosing to side with evil forces in exchange for power in a game, and that guy has clearly not entirely understood his life is actually at stake unlike in an actual game. Or maybe he thinks his evil god can revive him…

Being evil is easy, brings fast cash and quick rewards.
While being good is hard and rewards are slow/delayed in coming.
Which is why the bad guys are trying sooooo hard to invert it and create a paradox.
By making life easier for people, they are forcing them onto the path of evil, making it even harder to do and be good…
That way, these evil people setting it up that way, can just sit there fishing, waiting for good people to make a mistake and follow thier instructions of the easy path, so that the moment they do, the evil people can be justified in robbing them right away and branding them as evil…
That way the evil people can do evil deeds openly in public and be praised as good guys for it… meanwhile the people they are punishing are all innocent/ignorant and were being manipulated into being the bad guys.
