ngl I just hate it that MC insists on prying into her past when she’s not yet ready and that the author devised a convenient plot-driven pretext to justify MC’s intrusiveness. The tired old trope of “forcibly tearing down people’s walls for their own good” is about as pleasant as a colonoscopy
