This was a good showing the MCs abilities and skills, but I feel like the opponents was made to be worse than they actually should be. These people are candidates for one of the top guilds and are reaching the triple digits soon, so they should know what they’r doing better than this. Sure, there’s a penalty for dying, but it’s not so serious that they would hesitate with just ignoring the hostage and attack. Whatever he could have lost couldn’t have been worth more than the risk of letting their opponent do as he wanted, especially when their leader himself that being held hostage is telling them to attack. Aside from that it was a great showing of how strategic the MC can be though
