This development is the dumbest. Once damian told him he had the heart, he should have gone for the plan right away, instead of going to the principal for no reason and letting the useless school committee idiot approach damian.
Going to the principal is so forced, and leads to all of those completely unnecessary events, that are literally happening because of poor novel planning and basically lazy writing.
