“Hey guys, remember how the old guard enforced a strict inequality by birth with a strict top to bottom rule? I’ve got a great idea! Let’s enforce a strict equality by birth. Of course, we will have to create a strict top to bottom rule, and exempt ourselves from that equality to make sure it happens whether people like it or not, but it’s going to be totally different, and definitely better than the old system!”
