I was gonna mention the chains being the one holding down the monster when the MC’s sister was going down the elevator and the headmaster monologuing about what’s held down there. Then I saw someone say that it was the symbolism of the returnee breaking her chains then I felt like a dumbass for thinking it was the monster. Now I feel like a dumbass again.
