I think he means it in a way of desperation, the character would be too shallow.of.he just hated the mc for nothing he wants to become second place but he is surrounded by geniuses and cant shake the feeling of inferiority since he is stuck behind white hair girl and if Irene becomes second place even after all the hard work and putting himself down he would feel helpless. OR HE IS YOUR GENERIC JELOUS MAD STUDENT WITH FOLOWERS CUZ HE IS FROM A POWERFUL NOBOE FAMILY.

Hot Take. I like the Blue Hairs Character even more now. It really adds depth to him I think, and you need to remember hes still a teen who maybe isnt able to fix every personality issue he has in some elite school. On top hes a noble who was prolly spoiled a bit and is struggeling with some form of an inferiotery complex. I think it really sets him up to be a major supporting character with great character development. I hope they dont butcher him
