I am not sure that he’s doing the right thing by abandoning the swinging dude’s style.
First of all, he’s simply assuming that the dude is a separate entity. But for what we know, it could be his past life or a parallel life.
Anyway, the issue is not that the style is not right for him but that he approached it by imitating it.
Instead of abandoning it he can simply make it his own.

As far as I know, cats feel vulnerable when eating, so they prefer to have someone they trust watch over their back during the process. I’m not a cat expert though, so it may be wrong
