In the novel, the mechanical arm was described as being a huge thing built from scrap metal and was constantly spewing black smoke from the inefficient combustion engine strapped to it.
In this, despite having almost no resources, it’s all cleanly made from custom parts and is even nicely painted. How did he pull that off?
I’m guessing the artist just found a random 3D model of a mechanical arm and decided it was close enough since drawing it properly from scratch would be hard.
