That emperor really has a “I was kicked out of my party/noble family for being useless but my power is actually amazing” manga type power.
I can see it now, everyone thinks it’s useless because the only puppets or dolls MC can control are the small ones because that’s all that’s sold in markets, but then one day after their exile, they meet someone who teaches them to make their own dolls, and MC realizes they can make dolls in any size or shape they want, cue explosive power growth with them getting more and more powerful as they get better at making and controlling their creations.
