Okay, so a bit of quick research has yielded no evidence of Kumis being given to children or babies;
- Yes, Kumis is real and Mongolian
- Multiple health organizations find that “no amount of alcohol is safe for consumption” though they may mean that its negative effects do not need a threshold mount to be present; as opposed to any level is significant enough to be dangerous, though repeated low doses may moot that possibility.
- Apparently alcohol is a carcinogen, and that is one of the main negative effects of concern regarding these studies.
- I didn’t find any literature of Mongolian culture giving alcohol to children. I presume the author confused that animal-milk and animal-milk-derived-alcohol are not the same drink in that culture, and that therefore the “milk” given to babies is not the “milk” adults drink. Oops.
