That’s pretty lame, text of corruption should be a book that corrupts people or the text on his body makes people go insane. If it was still on his body then it’d also have varying effectiveness depending on what and how much he’s wearing. It’s absolutely brain dead for it to be a physical powerup.
If they wanted to give him a physical ability it should’ve been called something like Corroding strength, Curse of the strong, or cursed strength.

Demons need an anchor to be in the world and offer power for it, direct competition to the Gods lending magic for faith and control.
