So the Hero knows his original timeline, but has no idea of the timeline he altered, meaning he knew of the time he used the Fate Twisting Key or whatever it was called, or the equivalent he used, but knows nothing of the timeline it was used against him.
If there are still doubts about this, I’ll try to explain it this way: the Hero comes from timeline 1, where he used a time warping artifact, possibly against the MC and created timeline 2, where the MC used the Fate Twisting Key against himself and created timeline 3, the current one. So the Hero knows of timeline 1 and 3, while the MC knows of timeline 2 and 3. The Hero knows nothing of timeline 2, and the MC knows nothing of timeline 1.
Man they’re super on the nose in the adaption.. I don’t remember them making it this easy to tell the good guys a regressor, hell even a child would know with how they’re forcing it down your throat.

The plot thickens, I thought what the hero said in the first chapter was a typo, guess not and he did mean ‘Finally this time’, hinting that the hero is a regressor whose done this multiple times.
