One more thing even I did forgot:
They did just marched with an army of 7.5k of over the span of more than 45 days (1.5 months delay + whatever the time would be that they would have needed normally).
That army would have been dead before arrival!

There’s no way they could have sustain themselves with hunting and foraging. On top materials like camping equipment (among other things) is needed.
That means normally such an army has a convoy of non combatants or even civilians following with supplies. Usually about 3 times the size of the army.
Due to the attacks those either would have been killed or ran off. So the army still would have starved (or dehydrated) to death before arriving.
If they (some) would have arrived all would be more looking an undead horde than an army.

I truly hate how that Count trusts this shady people so much, it would be better if he was under brainwashing magic, but it seems he’s not. I hope he ends up completely absolutely ruined with no chance to ever raise and have power again. He completely failed as a leader. He is not fit to rule a field of grass, if the 1st extremely suspicious person can make him wager a sensless war deep into a hostyle territory
