I theoriesed about this.I think they are actually humans and that the tower or sinkhole or whatever shows him the illusion of them being goblins.goblin slayer will definitely kill them regardless tho…they are green and green is bad.. 
How tf is the God of Duels getting upset that he’s killing people that would interfere with the “Duel” he could have with the King, that doesn’t make sense
