I’m truly sorry, Ivy, but when your age is say, 5 years old, 6 years old, 7 years old, 8 years old, 9 years old…I don’t think being a boy or a girl is going to make much difference in grownups seeing you as an easy mark.
Well, that seems to explain why she never seems to allow her cloak’s hood to slip off and expose her ponytail, unless she’s alone or with someone she trusts. And given she has a sentence of execution hanging over her head in her home village, I guess it can only help a little bit if no talk gets out about a lonely little girl stranger wandering the area…
