When Ivy was born, she remembered her past life. She tries to avoid fighting over her memories. But fate was cruel – when children tried to learn about themselves and their aptitudes, Ivy had only one talent – Taming.
Ivy was weak from birth and could tame only a slug, no more. Parents hated her because of this (apparently, to be weak is a crime?). Only one woman in her native village treated her as her daughter.
But after her “death” Ivy got an unambiguous hint and ran away from home.
She met a slug whom she called Sora. And this is how our story begins – with a little girl, who is destined to become the Tamer.

Okay the light novels first 2 books cover all of the first 23 chapters and then some. As of 1/11/2025 there are 8 light novels and I’m on the 7th. It is still a cute and amusing story so if you can’t wait for more check it out.
Found the light novel version of this on Google play. Seems to be further along than here.
…anyone know any others that are weak and stay weak? 
I bought the first 2 volumes. I’m thinking about buying the third one. I bought the first manga one day at a book store because I liked the idea and art and I didn’t see anything else that seemed worth buying. I like the story and the peacefulness about it. Ivy and Sora adorable. I hope the manga release schedule gets a little more consistent. Maybe a new chapter every 2-3 months… The story is kind of relatable because sometimes I feel like I got abandoned too. Seeing Ivy trying to live gives me strength. Thanks for creating this manga!

came here from the anime, i’ll wait till the finale to start reading it
Got bored of random manga’s that show too much strength, so I saw this in the corner of my eye and read the whole thing. Personally I think this book is great. Good art style, wholesome scenes, somewhat alright characters. I say this book is a 9/10 but your opinion matters most. I recommend this book to people who are bored and have nothing else to read.
This is such an underrated series for how wholesome and good it is. Glad it’s getting an Anime Adaptation, but it’s barely got any views… 1.3k views was the highest I’ve seen on the trailers on Youtube.

An enjoyable story with a weak MC who works hard to live. Sad that I finished the last chapter.
These comments made me look forward to reading this, and I mean I look forward to reading as the chapters seem to update 1-3 months later
I like it! The mc isn’t overpowered and survives with wit and a little luck. I think her tamed slime will be the star of this story but it is a bit early to tell yet.

a pretty good story, but lots of chapters have the panels jumbled, i don’t if it’s the TL’s mistake or my brain just too stupid..some dialogues were confusing too…which one talking and who’s they’re talking to were unclear… It feels like many details were skimped over… But if you look at the bigger picture, it’s a nice story because MC is weak and had to survive while travelling and looking for useful things in a dump site, as the title says…
