I notice in all of these manga and anime, even in a European setting, when they go to some kind of hot spring its almost always Japanese style. I wonder if they did a minute of research, they would figure out that even today, ruins of old Roman bathhouses are still in public use. There is also the fact that a bathhouse would fit the setting more for most of Europe since almost all volcanic activity on the continent is in Italy and Greece and not that much. Instead, its always the perv-compliant, Japanese styled and manicured, open hot spring.
