I know that feeling, yeah, the “adults” in my childhood have wonder why the childrens fight over some trivial thing like “candy” but always leave it be without reconsider what themselves had done to theirs child. Children may have a simple mind, but very sensitivity to small change and that changes must be acceptable for the kid’s mind, if not that child will be broken, lost trust to the world. My family is not rich, i know how poor i am, but deep in my soul, i hate “poor” people, though i clearly known that they not the one wrong. Back to home from school only to find out my stuff were gift to some “poor” relatives happen visit and leave right before i get home. You think to have 3 meals a day is already a fortune? Looking back to those days, it true that the prisoner meal time more peaceful than my family meal time back then, why?
In the dining hall, if someone said you are useless with no valve, you can always punch them back to the reality that they are in same prison as you, but how the kid responsed to that similar scene on family’s dinner table? The only thing can happen is the kid surely narrow themself down and act to fit the “adult” ‘s word. Is that the child’s responsibility for being useless from start?
