Even if they planned to attack him he could have just walked away and many more people would still live to be with their families. It’s a valid question to ask if that outcome is worth it. Of course they should not even engage in something like this while they have a woman and child waiting for them at home. Also, if we walk the blame chain backwards takezo did start all this back when he crashed their dojo. Finally the stronger one has a greater responsibility towards those weaker than himself i think.
