i’m here after watching the anime adaptation of this chapter. but i must say. the manga still win xD. anime deliver its animation well. but i felt manga sitll win for this haha

Finn hyping up MC reminds me of Hermes
So 2 people in baby MC flashback are Mage Queen and Finn. 500 years so maybe she is MC’s ancestor?
Reading this with music on, makes me shiver.

So good lol dnno why ppl hate on this. Its jus feel good shounen action. Who cares if the story isnt insanely good. The art is fire, characters are cool, villains are evil and blood thirsty. When the anime gets to this point ohhhhhh my baby jesus its gonna slap <3

Y’know? It gas always bothered me when a story tries to cram the protagonist’s journey from weakling to monster in the first 2-3 chapters. It is, basically, the plot declaring “I’ve nothing of substance beyond the spectacle that the MC is going to put on for everyone.” Which, for most stories of that nature, it’s fine to do it that way. However, much as Solo Leveling tried to do as well, this story actually managed to draw out this process due to good characters, a solid setting, and it actually has a story to tell. Sure – it has its cliches and tropes – just as they all do, but it actually had more to offer than a power fantasy.
I love that, and the fact that they slowly built towards this moment says a great deal about the skills of the writer.
So we made it out of the prologue huh? Damn these scenes are gonna go crazy in the anime.
