So MC isnt an opportunist person or could be not too bright. If the innocents will.. still.. be dead, he could just enter the arena and kill the last person of the group, if he dont want to taint his hand with innocents blood. Free power (not) and eternal life!!

Why didn’t MC join after telling team not to join. At the end he would have just caused one extra person to die to become immortal and that person would also have been a mass murderer.

I find it weird that the mc never created any contingency plans for anything thats happening or going to happen. Like the dude barely planned anything at all despite knowing the future. He has the help of the most advanced a.i. on the planet that will uphold complete and utter secrecy not to mention the mc has near limitless funds and is able to access pretty much whatever he wants. Why not make plans for all of this instead of waiting for it to happen and then scramble for an answer? Probably the weakest part of this story, especially since they keep telling us how smart the mc is supposed to be.
