In the novel I’m pretty sure the guards protecting the pavilion lord die or something and that’s why she asks soma to take revenge. The MC was a bit late. The manhwa showed this scene in a light way to get it over with.

the first images of the attack seemed as if she had been expecting it and new the mc would protect her, but it had been just too fast for her to see

The MC’s close up is poorly drawn. I think eyes might be too close. Thought it was a completely different character.
Anyone with 10 braincells dont even come close to the pavillon lord because the guy thats protecting here managed to get called evil in a world of demons
We as readers keep thinking that the MC is a wholesome character but time and time again, we get reminded on how ruthless he can be when its needed. I love it! 
I taught she would have martial talent.. guess not..
