11/10, peak politics

Usually, I am not that much of a fan of the heavenly demonic sect theme.
But this story is ve~ry enticing.

I mean, (till ch 35) it’s mostly political and idealistic. But what’s there, is there for good!
I only miss a lil less perfection, cuz if this continues, it might become boring to me at around ch 80. No struggles so far 😕

I love the complexity of the characters. There is alot of previous knowledge that helps him, but he has no certainty towards characters and motivations. And this series peel back those layers so very well.

33 chapters in, this is a very, very good start. It might become one of the very best Murim stories.

*Spoilers from the first chapters incoming*

It is situated in the Heavenly demon cult, the second young master, son of the Heavenly demon himself. It’s a regression story, one where the regression was sought after and planned for a very long time, a lot of sacrifices made to get there. The reason to go back was to stop a killer from murdering their father. When back, being a mature man, he sees things differently from what he did then. He thought the only problem had been the killer who went rampant, but he now see the rot in the organisation, the corruption and misuse of power that makes the vulnerable people having no justice.

He also explores a new kind of relationship with his father, now with the wisdom of being an old man himself.

It’s a good read however the cover pic doesn’t suit this series as cover pic looks like emotionless guy but in series he’s emotional person.
