To do a katana would be too generic at this point. Plus a lot of these swords are dual-edges. There also seems to be a heavy english/british sword feel on these weapons. Plus those curves maybe he could make it into a small Falchion Blade. It would still have a curve similar to a katana will looking cool as heck.
But that’s just my suggestion.
