I guess the best outcome for us would be a that they stall for 4 hours.
neither characters would die and Riley could advance on the test.
the most realistic option would be that Becky dies since she’s against a mage legend.
but the most realistic outcome from a trope standpoint would be that the old man dies since it would mean Riley does not have to retake the test.

Dorothy’s older than Riley then. She has an attribute. But why did Riley let a spell hit her? She clearly had no idea whrte it would take her if she was even aware what it would do. She could have been dumped right on a trap or possibly even outside the test area for an easy DQ.
