The plot is contrived and it is pretty mid. Really it only makes me feel sad for the MC but the reasonings of everyone in this is just so simplistic and silly that takes away from what could have been a real good story if the writing was better.

Some things are rated low for a reason.

This one sits firmly in the mid category for me. The hook was pretty good, left room for a weak to strong protaganist, but the antagonist’s reasons for being who they are make little to no sense. The hero is a manipulative sociopath, the antagonists are all one dimensional sadists with no thoughts other than “haha killing and murder good, how do I torture you today?”

The protaganist isn’t even thought out that well given that he seems to have some severe case of inconsistent main character syndrome. On one hand, he wants to personally tear apart and kill everyone that’s involved with the hero and what he has built up, on the other, he spares the same people because he’s afraid of killing someone, except when he isn’t. Make it make sense.

I don’t expect the MC to have reincarnation knowledge or some system cheats out of nowhere for that immediate power scaling dopamine hit, but this manhwa is all over the place. The MC has some level of reasoning for why he is how he is, the antagonists… are evil for the sake of being evil.

Save yourself the trouble and read something else.

Okay I read it, it is not that bad but the mc is basically any early naive unbearable MC and you need massive patience to see him improve.
Biggest critique for me is him charging against the hero king on his own WITHOUT ANYTHING OR ANYONE TO BACK HIM UP.
For someone considering the greatest blacksmith, he didn’t bothered to forge na anti-hero thing to protect himself knowing full well he isn’t an experienced fighter trying to confront the hero for destroying both his life and friend. He just charged head on when he realized that everything is messed WITHOUT ANY PLANS.

I think its pretty good. Some great art and a so far decent plot. It feels a little rushed as it introduces things pretty fast, but its pretty solid overall. They dont focus so much on the actual smithing, more on what he makes, but like i said, SOLID.
only 7 chapters in, and i think people voted low because they were expecting a 11/10 story like greed, when its a 4.5/5 or higher revenge plot.
It feels like some hardcore manga readers came in with certain image in mind, found something different, and complained about it.
If its not for you, its not for you, and thats okay. But if before you leave, you decide to trash the store because they didnt meet your extreme standards and interests, that’s not okay. :cuteanime:
