That test really doesn’t test what the President likes to think it does. Quite a few of his subordinates just know the purpose of the job is saving other people, so they prove they can do it – but otherwise don’t care about others. Kyouka just felt so sorry for herself she was ready to kill herself anyway.
Funny how so many of Dazai’s plans include potentially sacrificing other people for a goal (with a high risk of death).
And I’m sure it was just a coincidence that by patting Akutagawa on the shoulder he nullified his ability.
