Childhood Friend of the Zenith

Just finished reading all 26 Available Chapter’s on Manganelo. And damn, this is a pretty good Murim Manhwa. I rate it an 4/5. It’s a Great Read. The Art, is Perfection! (A little too perfect actually, it reminds me of “Priest of Corruption” and “Boundless Necromancer”. Especially when it comes to the Close Up Panels on the Female Characters, which seems to be the main “Fan Service” of this Manhwa, which seems hated by some people in the comments here, but I love it, very cute and adorable.) The Story is very interesting. (Lots of interesting things about the story is being revealed gradually, like MC’s Past, why he became an Demonic Martial Artist, the truth behind his Time Regression and so on.) The Characters are very interesting as well. (Especially when it relates to MC’s “Future Past” Life. Like People he killed but is meeting now, or meeting people who he knows who they’ll become in the future. Kinda reminds me of “The Murim Clans Ranker”.) The most interesting thing about this Manhwa is the Female Main Character, who is more than what meets the eye. She’s a special being, the one who seems to be responsible for MC’s Time Regression as revealed in the later chapters. Quite unique, probably the only Regression Manhwa I’ve read where the MC isn’t the only one sent back in time, and, he’s not even “Special” at all. He himself wasn’t responsible for his Time Regression, but the FMC. Very interesting, I want to know more about what the FMC thinks of MC for her to change the world so drastically just to be with MC again.

But, this Manhwa is not without problems. Just like some Manhwa’s like it, why did we need a time regression? I would’ve LOVED to see “The Future Past” more instead of little flashback’s here and there. Especially since it’ll answer lots of important questions, questions like MC’s Past, who the FMC is, and why FMC destroyed the Original Timeline for MC. 🤔 And, I like Evil MC more than what we currently have tbh.

I kinda wish MC became demonic again. Especially since he said “He was Betrayed” in the first chapter, meaning he didn’t want to become a Demonic Martial Artist and be an Servant to the Heavenly Demon (I think I should say, Heavenly Demoness. Since the Heavenly Demon in this Manhwa is actually a Hot Woman.) but was forced to due to betrayal. So who betrayed him? I’m guessing a family member, or the Murim Alliance? If so, why even care about the War between the Demonic and Orthodox? Both sides suck. Let them destroy each other instead. Especially since both sides victimized and oppressed you. Which goes into the 2nd problem of this Manhwa, the MC wants to “Live a Slow and Quiet Life”, yet keeps getting himself involved in “Big Murim Matters”, like, I’d understand if his goal is “Oh, I want to do this to strengthen myself” or “I want to do this just so I won’t be affected in the future”, but no. MC is doing lots of things that go against the Demonic Cult, for the sake of the Murim Alliance? 🤨 This is why I want to see the “Future Past” more, this didn’t need an Time Regression, at least… Not yet. Especially since it would’ve been so awesome to know more about the Female Main Character, and why she destroyed the Main Timeline just to be reunited with MC. And it seems, Regressing the World, came at a price for her. Though what price she paid is still a little unclear to me. This needs a mass release.
