I suspect that the only people that regressed were the people that died in the previous timeline other than those that died before the system installation. He probably never died and is the last survivor still thriving in the previous timeline on a parallel world.

Soldiers do not act like this guy. I get they are trying to make the MC look cool but if you try to take a Soldiers weapon they or their buddies will shoot you. He also did not take ammo so after about 30 or so rounds he has a small useless club. This author seems to be very uneducated about the topics he is writing about. I get this is fantasy but wow this is hard to read.
