I Shall Survive Using Potions!

I got through chapter 16 before I admitted I hated it. Why? It’s relentlessly hostile, and nobody’s actions can be justified. MC assumes that everyone is dangerously corrupt, so she deceives them all in pretty illogical ways, and instead of the obvious consequences, they all do random things that the author tries to present as MC’s grand plan. The author then reveals that of course everyone she deceived was a terrible person, so it was wise and just for her to do so, even though she explicitly didn’t know that. Every couple chapters the author realises that some bystander was done particularly dirty, so he throws in a ‘later MC sent a gift that made it all better’.

But worse than the senseless plot and complete lack of goals, there are no likeable characters. Maybe one in five characters turns out to be decent, and they are just dropped from the story because why would you want to spend time with kind or trustworthy people? Ditch those losers, we want to get back to the arrogant, entitled psychopaths who have no clear motives except to be evil, which pretty well describes MC.

It’s frustrating because the premise could have been a good one. Woman gets an isekai trip and asks for the power to create any potion she can imagine ex nihilo. It’s way too OP, but it could have been fun. SHE TRIES HER HARDEST TO NOT MAKE ANY POTIONS FOR A DOZEN CHAPTERS. It’s like the author was forced to write this and kept trying to get it cancelled.

There do seem to be people who liked this, but two different scanlation groups wrote about how much they hated it, so I’m not alone. I’d say skip.
