if MC wasnt a re re he would kill the king guy and a few other high level people and then leave so the empire needs to fight it self for some time and not attack other countries
letting other countries to power up and MC gets freedom

soo… no explanation as to why the guards are so resiliant to magic? eg: magic resistant armor or something? or are magic spells really that weak in this world?
and if he is a mage… and knows about the guards and armor… how dumb does he have to be to not pick/use spells that work on them? or sleeping powder…
